Malaysia thanks Vietnam for timely support in search for missing plane

Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Najib Tun Razak on Monday expressed his attitude for Vietnamese government and people for timely support in the search for the MH370 which lost contact with ground on March 8.

Malaysian PM made the remarks while talking over phone with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung, e-Portal of Vietnamese government reported.

Malaysia hopes Vietnam will further coordinate in sharing information and data that the country has collected, helping locate the whereabouts of the lost jetliner soon, said Najib.

Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung, for his part, sent the deepest regards to Malaysian government, people and relatives of passengers on the MH370 flight.

Dung reaffirmed that Vietnam has mobilized its maximum forces to carry out the hunt from March 8 with 10 vessels and 11 aircraft. The country has conducted 55 searching flights, in addition to coordinated efforts by various fishing boats of Vietnamese local fishermen.

When asked whether the missing jet of Malaysian Airlines had enter Vietnam's airspace or not, the Vietnamese prime minister said, up to now, there has been no information on the entering of the jet into his country's airspace.

Vietnam will continue to closely cooperate with Malaysia and related sides and be ready for making contribution for the hunt of the lost airliner within its capacity, including providing concerned data, said Dung.

The Vietnamese prime minister also asked Malaysia to keep his country and related sides updated to the latest information of the search.
