As of Monday, more than 200,000 Pakistani users have downloaded Asia Pacific Daily (APD) NEWS App since it was launched in July 2015.
Asia Pacific Daily App attracted nearly 2 mln overseas users on the same day. Now, it has become a major platform for Pakistan people to understand China and the world as attracting foreign readers is taken as an important strategy of its user growth.
“The main reason I chose APD is China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Curious about what is going on in CPEC. I wanted to have China perspective. Also APD covers South East Asia news which are not commonly available in our region,” Shamim Farhan, a teacher in Karachi said.
APD NEWS, a multilingual news application, delivers visual, credible, and fair news to handsets via text, images and video, filtering into a number of categories, including top stories, world news, politics, breaking news, China, business & economy, science & technology, and lifestyle & culture. Till now, it supports languages include Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi.
The China column is always popular among the Pakistanis. Mohsin Raza Rajani, an accountant working in Karachi, stated that the APD China always presents the latest information about the country he loved the most in the region.
“I like to follow Chinese President’s visits and announcements and speeches. I like China’s economic news and reports about life of common people in China.” Mukhtar Ahmed, a journalist, working for AAJ TV (Urdu TV Channel) added.
By virtue of advantages of innovative internet technology, there will be more new-media products developed by the APD in an attempt to build the most influential convergence platform of new media in Pakistan.
The popularity of the app will continue as it consistently appears in the top free download chart in Asia-Pacific countries.
The users of APD NEWS cover more than 198 countries and regions, the top ten of which include Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and the United States.
On a scale of 1 to 10, most Pakistan users rate APD- app at 8 to 9, which shows the rich content and high quality of the app. Inspired by the feedback, APD will provide better news for the users all around the world.
