China drafts law on protecting reputation of heroes, martyrs

People who insult or slander heroes and martyrs may receive criminal sanctions, according to draft Amendment XI to China’s Criminal Law.

The draft decision was submitted on Sunday to the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, for first reading.

The 20th session of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC is due to take place from June 28 to 30 in Beijing.
