A live-ammunition drill was recently conducted by the 71st Army Group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on the beachhead off the Yellow Sea to check the capability of their air defense operations.

As soon as the hostile planes tried to approach the front zone for air strikes, the anti-aircraft gun unit located them and immediately launched defensive fire.

After the first round of confrontations, soldiers were ordered to maneuver to other positions, with all units cooperating in covering each other and finishing the maneuver quickly.

With another echelon of hostile planes attacking from different directions at a low altitude following the maneuver, the army group's electronic interference unit launched an electro-magnetic operation against the invading enemy planes.

Shan Chunjin, a brigade commander of the army group, said that it was the first time they organized the group's air defense force into units and applied electronic resistance power in combat.
