Chinese President reiterates commitment to host successful, exceptional 2022 Olympics

President Xi Jinping has urged organizers of the 2022 Winter Olympics to work hard and fulfill China's commitment to the Olympic Family of hosting a successful and exceptional Games.

Xi made the remarks at the first meeting of the leading Games organizers earlier this month in Beijing.

While a successful Winter Olympics is also important to the regional economy in North China, joint efforts are needed to promote the awareness of environmental protection among the Chinese people, to raise the level of city management and to promote winter sports in China, Xi said.

Beijing 2022 will be held in three competition zones, namely downtown Beijing, Beijing's Yanqing County and Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province. Enditem
