Gunmen opened fire on a group of wedding guests outside a Christian church in Egypt's capital of Cairo on Sunday night, killing at least two and wounding 12 others, official news agency MENA reported.

The guests were leaving a Coptic Christian church in the Waraq neighborhood of Giza district following a wedding ceremony, when unknown gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on them, the report quoted security officials as saying.

A man and a woman were immediately killed.

The wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital and some of them were in serious conditions, Egypt's ambulance service head Ahmed al-Ansari said.

Local authorities cordoned off the area and begun investigations into the attack, the report said. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
