One person was killed and six may be trapped under the rubble after a gas blast hit a residential building in the city of Shakhty, in Russia's south Rostov Region, local news reported Monday.
Preliminary information showed that the gas blast took place on the ninth floor of the residential building and four apartments were damaged, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
As search and rescue operation continues, an investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.
