22 people killed in armed attack in central Nigeria

At least 22 people were killed and 14 were injured in an armed attack in central Nigeria's Plateau state on Saturday morning, according to the state police.

Ubah Ogaba, the police spokesperson in Plateau, said in a statement Saturday that a convoy of five buses with Muslim followers were attacked by armed men along Rukuba road of Jos North local government area of the state.

He said a team of police personnel, the military and other security agencies were immediately mobilized to the scene, where 21 victims were rescued and six suspects arrested.
