Hong Kong reports no new COVID-19 cases for 2nd time since March 5

Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported on Friday no new confirmed cases of COVID-19, the second time in five days.

As of 4 p.m. Friday local time, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been recorded, and the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong remained at 1,035, the CHP said.

The CHP reported no new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the first time since March 5.

The daily increase of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong has been at single-digit level since April 12 after weeks of surge in imported cases as well as local cluster outbreaks.

According to Hong Kong's Hospital Authority, as of Friday noon 725 patients who had COVID-19 confirmed or as probable infections have been discharged from the hospitals upon recovery.
