Famous Japanese writer Haruki Murakami's new novel "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage" became Japan's bestseller for 2013 during the 12 month period through November, reported local media Tuesday.

About 985,000 copies were sold during the period and made Murakami win the bestseller title in four years since the release of "1Q84 Book 1" in 2009, according to Japan's Kyodo News.

Other top 10 entrants in novel category included Naoki Hyakuta' s "Kaizoku to Yobareta Otoko" (the Man Who Was Called a Pirate), and Jun Ikeido's "Rosujene no Gyakushu" (the Lost Generation Strikes Back), said the report.
