Finding solutions to replace single use plastics in Mexico

​During a year the UN secretary-general has called "crucial" in the fight against climate change,the focus on environmental sustainability is more urgent than ever. In Mexico, a new product that seeks to replace single-use plastics is generating notice.

The nopal – or prickly pear ​cactus– a symbol of Mexico around the world. It’s featured on the country’s national flag, is commonly eaten here, and is now helping Mexico in its quest to be more environmentally sustainable.
