China willing to advance bilateral ties with Italy: Wang Yi

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi hailed the fruitful outcomes of the cooperation between China and Italy on Saturday, saying that China is willing to strive for the greater development of bilateral ties.

Wang made the remarks in a video speech for a documentary produced by China and Italy marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.

The Chinese foreign minister said the two countries should undertake exchange on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit.

China and Italy should continue to support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests, make concerted efforts to facilitate economic recovery in the post-pandemic era and promote the steady development of China-Europe ties, Wang said.
