Japan has approved a plan to dump more than one million tonnes of wastewater from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean. The decision has caused global controversy, and some local residents and international environmental protection organizations are voicing protest. So the question is: Does Japan have to dump the radioactive wastewater into the sea? What impact will it have? And is there a better solution?
