Myanmar's Health Ministry said on Monday that no suspected cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) has been reported in the country.

However, officials of the ministry warned that "currently there is no cure or specific treatment for MERS."

To prevent any outbreak of MERS in Myanmar, the ministry is monitoring every entry point into the country for the potentially deadly virus, especially in Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Nyaung U international airports.

People are being advised to take preventive measures against a probable spread of the virus infection from outside the country. Enditem
