Up to 61,276 enterprises with total registered capital of 596,196 billion Vietnamese dong (nearly 26.4 billion U.S. dollars) were established in Vietnam in the first half of this year, posting respective year-on-year rises of 12.4 percent and 39.4 percent.

Also during the six-month period, 15,379 enterprises, which had temporarily ceased operations due to different difficulties, resumed their activities, up 3.2 percent, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said on Thursday.

Favorable business and investment situations at home and abroad were mainly attributed to higher confidence of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, many foreign and local experts said.
