China calls for strengthen solidarity against pandemic

China called on the international community to strengthen solidarity in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic, especially the cooperation between China and the U.S., Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Friday.

China has exported about 43.85 billion masks, 1.19 billion pairs of surgical gloves, 950 million sets of protective clothing, 54.03 million pairs of goggles and 17,585 sets of ventilators to the United States from March 1 in 2020 to February 28 in 2021, Wang said.

Wang noted that the two sides maintain communication and cooperation on the research and development of vaccines and drugs.

China will continue to work with other countries to promote in-depth international cooperation in fighting the pandemic, Wang added.
