Malaysian food company to open outlet in Indonesia

Coolblog Dessert Sdn Bhd, a leading food and drink kiosk in Malaysia, plans to open its pioneer outlet in Indonesia by year-end, ssaid the company on Wednesday.

The company's advertising and operation manager Winson Keh told reporters that the company had decided to open its first outlet in Jakarta due to a large Muslim population in the city.

He said the company will receive the Halal certification in Malaysia and is currently seeking a potential partner in Indonesia.

Coolblog Dessert has more than 250 outlets in Malaysia and aims for 400 by 2014.

Winson said the locations chosen by the licensee would be reviewed for at least a week, with areas near banks, supermarkets and colleges.

A potential Coolblog licensee needs a start-up capital of about RM120,000 (about 40,000 U.S. dollars) covering the kiosk rental, management, trained workers, equipment, ingredients, licence and training.
