The diplomatic rift in the Gulf is causing concern for many world leaders, but residents in Doha are shrugging these troubles off.

Throughout the week, international pressure has been accumulating over Qatar as the number of countries cutting or downgrading diplomatic ties with it have been increasing. But the tension has calmed down, with Turkey and Russia offering to mediate, and Germany has also called for lifting the blockade.

However, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Thani says it’s a fight about the country’s independence, and the country is not and will never be ready to surrender.

While the international community is concerned with this escalating crisis, most locals here are at peace and have trust in the Qatar Emir Tamim, CGTN’s Adel EL Mahrouky reports.

But the abrupt family connections between Gulf countries is what matters the most to them.

A Qatari resident says the only thing that upsets him is being unable to go to Saudi Arabia, UAE, or Bahrain, where there are blood connections between the people, and apart from which he is not worried and believes the country will always prosper.

The Capital’s corniche sparkles with the bright dancing colors of the traditional boats. Many have just broken their fasting, they are here with their loved ones to take a quick cruise in the gulf. Markets too are packed with people and cultural events as any regular night in Doha always is.
