Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported no new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 on Monday, the 22nd consecutive day with no local infections in Hong Kong.

As of 4 p.m. Monday local time, no new local confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been recorded, and the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong remained at 1,047, the CHP announced.

All recent reported cases recorded locally had a travel history during the incubation period, a spokesman for the CHP said, urging members of the public arriving in Hong Kong to approach the Department of Health's Port Health Division officers immediately for follow-up when respiratory symptoms develop.

The CHP also urged members of the public to maintain an appropriate social distancing with other people as far as possible in their daily lives to minimize the risk of outbreak clusters emerging in the community.

"Given that the situation of COVID-19 infection remains severe and that there is a continuous increase in the number of cases reported around the world, members of the public are strongly urged to avoid all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong," the spokesman added.
