More than 30 used-car companies and service providers signed agreements with the first used-car export base of Sichuan province in Shuangliu district, Chengdu on Friday.
On the same day, the Sichuan Vehicle Trade Public Service Platform and the province's used-car export industry alliance were also officially launched.
As the first used-car export base in Sichuan, it will optimize the used-car export industry chain and ecosystem, promote the upgrading of domestic car consumption, drive the scale and structural improvement of foreign trade, and support the high-quality development of the automotive industry.
The site will feature "One Base, Two Platforms, Six Centers". "One Base" refers to the China (Sichuan Shuangliu) Used Car Export Base; the "Two Platforms" are the online Sichuan Vehicle Trade Public Service Platform and the offline China (Sichuan Shuangliu) Used Car Export Base Public Service Platform; and the "Six Centers" cover exhibition and transaction, maintenance and preparation, inspection and certification, warehousing and logistics, financial services, and vehicle service.
Compared to used-car bases relying on international ports, the China (Sichuan Shuangliu) Used Car Export Base focuses on integrating the resources of the entire industry chain across the country and overseas markets.
By building online and offline service platforms, establishing the used-car export industry alliance, and fostering collaboration among vehicle source providers, traders and service providers, the base aims to integrate domestic and foreign trade and cover the southwestern area and even the whole country.
The base plans to build a used-car export industry chain characterized by data-driven operations, financial support, brand building, talent support, diverse markets, environmental sustainability, regional cooperation and industry integration.
The Shuangliu district of Chengdu expects that by 2027, the base will attract more than 150 enterprises from the industrial ecosystem, export 30,000-plus used cars annually, and achieve an annual used-car export trade volume exceeding 5 billion yuan ($700 million).
