The World Health Organization Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence will be established in Berlin later this year, German Health Minister Jens Spahn said on Wednesday.
Spahn, speaking at a virtual event attended also by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the head of the WHO, said the world was still insufficiently prepared for pandemics.
The WHO Hub will be a global center that works with partners around the world to lead innovations in pandemic and epidemic intelligence, data, surveillance and analytics, WHO General Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at the event.
