About 3660 Syrians refugees swarm into Turkey in fresh exodus from Kurds-IS clash

Some 3660 Syrian refugees fleeing clashes between Islamic State (IS) militant group and the Syrian Kurdish fighters have swarmed into Turkey over the past three days, private Dogan News Agency reported on Saturday.

A group of 400 more Syrians also entered the country on Saturday through Akcakale border crossing in southern Sanliurfa province, according to the report.

Syrian refugees were given health checks first and registered before they were transferred to refugee camps, said the report.

According to the latest figures from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate, the number of Syrian refugees in Turkey had exceeded 900,000 in April.

Only 224,000 of them are living inside the camps in Turkey.
