African Union chairperson Alpha Conde has called on countries to commit to the decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court.

Conde made the comments in Sudan, after meeting with Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir. The Sudanese leader is wanted by the ICC on charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

But Conde said African leaders should instead support the establishment of a continental court to hear African affairs.
