Barcelona set sights on Evergrande's Paulinho

Chinese Super League, Guangzhou Evergrande continue to play hardball with Spanish giants Barcelona. Reports from Spain claim the Catalans remain in hot pursuit of Paulinho, who currently plays for the CSL champs. Several media outlets in Spain claim Barca are expected to sign the professional Brazilian footballer, but with the Chinese transfer season now closed. That alleged move will have to wait until the winter.

Evergrande previously refused several bids for the player, despite reports of a proposed summer transfer. The reluctance from the CSL club, may have to do with the timing, as the window is now closed and would be unable to find a replacement for their star.

Paulinho has scored 11 times in 25 games throughout all competitions.

If a move is to come to fruition, it seems it will have to wait until Evergrande's transfer window will open.
