Local police authorities in northern Nigeria's Yobe State confirmed Sunday a suicide bomb attack in a crowded market of the Potiskum town but said they were still collecting the official figure of casualties.

State police spokesperson Toyin Gbadegesin told Xinhua in Damaturu, capital of the Yobe State, that a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb attached to her body at the Kasuwan Jagwal market, where a similar sad occurrence took place last month.

The weekly Kasuwan Jagwal market, specifically for the trade of mobile phones accessories, was full to the brim when the incident occurred, said Gbadegesin.

"But we will make the official figure of casualties known as soon as we complete our findings," he said. Enditem
