California AG nominated to take over U.S. Health and Human Services

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden has picked California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra to lead the​U.S. Department ofHealthand Human Services.

Becerra has never held ahealthpolicy role, but he's got a long history of involvement in the nation's Affordable Care Act.

If confirmed, he'll be tasked with helping Biden fulfill a key commitment,distributing 100 million COVID-19 vaccines inhisfirst 100 days in office.
