Luis Suarez made his 50th international goal memorable as he powered Uruguay to a 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic on Friday to reach the final of the China Cup in Nanning.

The Barcelona forward also registered an assist for the second goal for the Celeste, who will face an in-form Wales in the final on Sunday.

The Uruguayans went ahead after ten minutes when Suarez converted a penalty after being brought down in the box by Czech keeper Jiri Pavlenka.

The Czech Republic, who missed out on qualification for the upcoming World Cup, almost leveled the score when midfielder Antonin Barak's attempt from outside the box was parried by Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

As the Czechs pushed hard, Uruguay was able to double the lead in the 26th minute when Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani scored a stunning overhead kick from a Suarez flick-on to put Uruguay 2-0 up.

Wales reached the final by outclassing hosts China 6-0 on Thursday night with Real Madrid star Gareth Bale bagging a hat-trick.
