Some 50,000 test kits from China arrived in Turkey on Monday, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
The total number of imported test kits will be 300,000 till Thursday, the minister told a press conference in Ankara.
Turkey has agreed with China to import nearly 1 million test kits, he noted.
Meanwhile, a special drug that could shorten the treatment period of COVID-19 patients was also brought from China with the necessary quantity, Koca said.
The minister added that Turkey has recruited 32,000 new health workers to meet the demand for treating the COVID-19 patients.
The death toll from COVID-19 in Turkey rose to 30 on Sunday, while the total number of confirmed cases climbed to 1,236. Turkey has become the second hardest-hit country in the region, after Iran.
