14 pilgrims killed in car crash in southern Myanmar

At least 14 pilgrims have been killed and a dozen others injured in a passenger car crash in Dawei district, southern Myanmar, local media reported Thursday.

The passenger car with pilgrims on board returning from pilgrimage in Letkhat Taung in Launglone township on Wednesday crashed and overturned in the afternoon due to brake failure, the report said.

The victims include nine men and five women.

The injured were brought to nearby Dawei Hospital for treatment, the report added. Enditem
