Cultural events from panda’s hometown win applauses from HK residents

Cute giant pandas figures and beautiful music witnessed the opening of week-long Sichuan, Hong Kong and Macao Cooperation Week on Monday.

The music-themed cultural flash activity named “ Tianfu Movement, praise Chengdu and Hong Kong ”, hosted by the Chengdu People's Government News Office, was the opening program of the promotion event. A series of traditional artistic performances, giant panda interactive activity and photo and text exhibitions offered Hong Kong people and tourists an opportunity to the provincial capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province and its unique culture.

Six young stars were invited to perform for the audience. They sang popular songs including the affectionate and local characteristic song Chengdu , songs with Hong Kong characteristics the Pearl of the Orient and the Below the Lion Rock . The diverse and fast-paced flash activity attracted tourists’ attentions, winning warm applauses and cheers.

Such flash activity will also be held throughout the metropolis, with the singers touring on giant panda-decorated bus. Hong Kong people will get more chances to enjoy Chengdu culture in some landmark buildings including the Tianxing wharf, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Lan Kwai Fong.

In addition, more activities including Cute Giant Panda Dances Hong Kong Flash and Giant Panda Bus City Parade , will begin soon. Lovely and cute giant panda figures will visit the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. All these theme activities will show Chengdu’s wonderful outlook of urban development, economic prosperity and social harmony, and thereby enhance cultural exchange and economy and trade cooperation between Chengdu and Hong Kong.
