Washington is piling pressure on Chinese companies listed on U.S. exchanges to comply with U.S. audit inspections or face delisting.

U.S. officials say Chinese companies have been trading on these exchanges with limited oversight by U.S. regulators, and that has to change.

What could this mean for nearly $2 trillion dollars worth of U.S.-listed Chinese companies, and the U.S. investors who trade their stocks?
