S.Korea reports 26 more COVID-19 cases, 13,771 in total

South Korea reported 26 more cases of the COVID-19 as of 0:00 a.m. Monday local time compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 13,771.

The daily caseload fell below 30 in 25 days, but it continued to increase in double digits due to imported cases.

Of the new cases, 22 were imported from overseas, lifting the combined figure to 2,067. It continued to increase in double digits for 25 days in a row.

One more death was confirmed, leaving the death toll at 296. The total fatality rate stood at 2.15 percent.

A total of 16 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 12,572. The total recovery rate was 91.3 percent.

Since Jan. 3, the country has tested more than 1.47 million people, among whom 1,435,120 tested negative for the virus and 21,302 are being checked.
