MADRID, Sept. 2 (APD) – A Spanish female dancer killed on stage while performed in a festival in town of Las Berlanas, north-west of Madrid, on Sunday.
The 30 year-old Joana Sainz Garcia was performed with her professional dancer and musician group of Super Hollywood Orchestra when a pyrotechnic device suddenly exploded near her that knocked her down unconscious.
The incident occurred in front of at least 1,000 spectators attended the festival.
The Santander-origin Joana Sainz Garcia was a main member of the 15 artists joined in the group. She was reportedly the choreographer in the dancer division of the group.
The Super Hollywood Orchestra group was hired to perform in the event to close down the 4-day festival in Las Berlanas.
Sainz was declared death in hospital at 02:00 local time after endured various intensive medical treatments to save her life.
The group’s promoter, Prones 1SL, stated that the incident was apparently caused by manufacturing failures, saying that it had never happened in previous acts with the pyrotechnic system.
Las Berlanas government regretted the incident and paid tribute to Sainz with a comment posted in Sainz Facebook that says “RIP Johan Sainz. You are in our memory”.
