COVID-19 virus surging rapidly in India

The COVID-19 virus is surging rapidly in India. More than anywhere else in the world for almost a month.

Officials in India reported a record spike in coronavirus infections.

The number of people known to be infected in India is over 4.5 million. 95,735 new cases were added in the past 24 hours with 1,172 deaths.

Total fatalities are over 76,000.
