BRICS Political Parties, Think-tanks and Civil Society Organizations Forum has begun in Fuzhou, capital of southeast China's Fujian Province.

In the opening ceremony, Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that BRICS has become a platform for the cooperation between emerging economies and other developing countries, and contributed to more than 50 percent of the world GDP growth.

At a time the international situation is becoming complicated, BRICS countries should move from the achievements of the past decade, and further cooperate together, he said. Liu also stressed that political parties, think-tanks and civil societies should play a more active role in deepening cooperation between the bloc’s countries.

Liu also put forth a four-point proposal for a fairer and more reasonable international order.

Over 400 participants from BRICS and other developing countries are attending the three-day forum seeking to build consensus and boost stronger BRICS cooperation through in-depth exchanges, while offering proposals for the 9th BRICS Summit scheduled for September in the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province.
