"How to Train Your Dragon 2" leads China's box office

American blockbuster sequel "How to Train Your Dragon 2" earned 168 million yuan (about 27.35 million U.S. dollars) to rule China's box office in the week ending Aug. 17.

"Brick Mansions," an action movie starring the late Paul Walker, came in second by grossing 43.5 million yuan in the week, according to China Film News on Tuesday.

Not far behind was action-tragedy "Pompeii," which stars actor Kit Harington, with 42 million yuan.

"Brotherhood of Blades," a domestic action movie which debuted on Aug. 7, pulled in 39 million yuan in the week to take the fourth spot.

Rounding up the top five list was "The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom," a domestic martial arts fantasy, which grossed 37 million yuan.
