Twenty Fijian seasonal workers bound for Australia and New Zealand have received pre-departure training and are ready to go, the government said Friday.

While presenting pre-departure orientation training certificates to the seasonal workers, Salaseini Daunabuna, permanent secretary for employment, productivity and industrial relations reminded them that the key to opening and closing doors for more work opportunities for other fellow Fijians depends on their work performance.

"They have selected you for your talents in the your tourism and hospitality industry and now is the time for you to shine and use your talents. Please maintain the trust with your employer, work as a team, be loyal and ask questions when you don't understand something," Daunabuna said.

The Fijian seasonal workers will be based at various tourism resorts in the two neighbor countries, according to Fiji's Department of Information.
