Indonesia’s Citilink wins 2018 Asia’s Best Budget Airlines award

JAKARTA, April 17 (APD) — Indonesian budget airlines of Citilink was identified as the best one in its category in Asia this year according to results of a survey carried out by prominent travel reviewer website of Tripadvisor.

The results came out from TripAdvisor’s 2018 Traveller Choice survey and a one-year assessment carried out by the website in various respects, including the customers’ reviews and data related to the airlines’ operation.

Among the passengers’ accounts and data that helped Citilink gained the award were the crews’ hospitality, flight time accuracy above 80 percent, flight safety, cabin cleanliness and smooth landing and tea off processes.

Prior to the award announced on April 9, Citilink earned the highest point of four-star accreditation from international flight rating agency Skytrax for its service excellence.

The subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-run airlines Garuda Indonesia also booked remarkable achievements throughout last year in best IT implementation, best transportation safety management and leading low-cost airline in 7 consecutive years awarded by Indonesian Transportation Ministry.

“What we achieved this year have completed the ones last year. One ting for sure that we have committed to push forward our airlines to become the best in every aspect,” Citilink President Director Juliandra Nurtjahjo said to comment on the latests award received from TripAdvisor.

Citilink now regularly serves flights to 32 cities across the nation with 268 regular flights.

The national budget airlines also serves international flights to Dili in Timor Leste and Penang in Malaysia with more regional destinations have been planned in the near future.

Praising the latest award received by Citilink, Indonesia’s Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said that it has proved international recognition on quality of accessibility in Indonesia.

“This award is important, indicating that we have an excellent transportation system. It would eventually boost up the confidence of Indonesia’s tourism sector,” he said.
