Civil society organizations, political parties and armed forces have been submitted, alternately at the end of Sunday morning, their nominations for the leader of the transitional period in Burkina Faso to the militaries authorities in power in the West African country.

According to Pro. Luc Marius Ibriga, a member of civil society organizations, three names are drawn up from about 20 nominations after long discussions.

These are Bishop Paul Ouedraogo, Archbishop of Bobo-Dioulasso, Mrs. Josephine Ouedraogo, former minister during the popular and democratic revolution led by Thomas Sankara, and Justin Damo Barro, former governor of the West African states central bank BCEAO and former deputy minister for the Budget.

Religious and traditional leaders said to be judge and defendant abstained from submitting nominations.

"It is not convenient that we make any proposal because we will be judge and defendant. We confine ourselves to provide moral leadership," a traditional leader told Xinhua. Enditem
