A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck southern Sumatra in Indonesia at 6:29 a.m. on Wednesday local time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was monitored at 4.31 degrees south latitude and 101.15 degrees east longitude, said the CENC.
No tsunami alerts have been issued or reported so far.
