The death toll has risen to 11 in north California wildfires, and about 150 people have been reported missing as of early Tuesday, local officials said.

The most damaging wildfires in the modern history in the U.S. state of California has burned about 8,200 acres of land in at least 15 blazes in Northern California. Only 10 percent of the flames has been contained by Tuesday morning, officials said.

The lastest death tool came after one person died early Monday morning trying to flee the Cascade Fire in Yuba County in California, county spokesman Russ Brown said Tuesday.

Other casualties include seven in Sonoma County, two in Napa County and one in Mendocino County.

The wildfires have forced Napa and Sonoma, the two hardest-hit places, to close all schools and closure order remains in place Tuesday, district officials announced.

The deadly fires in North Bay of California have caused serious damage to the state, and thousands of people were forced to be evacuated, with more than 1,500 homes and commercial facilities, including hospitals, completely destroyed.
