KATHMANDU, Oct 11 -- Prime Minister KP Oli has said peace and security have been the first step for pursing prosperous Nepal. Addressing an event organized by Nepal Police at the police headquarters on the occasion of the 63^rd^ Police Day on Thursday, PM Oli said the police should play an important role in implementing the campaign of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’.
He said that the government would create an environment conducive for security agencies to work responsibly.
The Prime Minister also appreciated Nepal’s security agencies for performing well in peacekeeping missions abroad, thus heightening the country’s image.
On the occasion, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal said Nepal Police is capable of curbing any type of crime.
