Spain confirms 4 new coronavirus variant cases

Spain reported four confirmed cases of a new coronavirus variant on Saturday, local health authorities said.

All four cases involved people who recently flew in from the UK, where a new variant recently emerged, according to the Madrid regional government.

Data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows Spain has registered 1,854,951 total confirmed coronavirus cases and 49,824 deaths from the disease.
