Toyota Motor Philippines announced the construction of a P4.5 billion logistics hub in the main island of Luzon soon. This will be complemented by the launch of the Toyota Mobile App to connect customers with their dealers. A new business model to explore long-term leasing of vehicles is also in the works.

All these form part of the projects initiated by TMP President Satoru Suzuki who recently ended his four-year term as head of the local automotive giant.

He began his stewardship of the leading car manufacturer in January 2016 which saw the strong resurgence of local parts manufacturing, grassroots motorsports and environmental initiatives along with the introduction of important global models to the Philippine market.

The formal announcement of his departure was attended by TMP Chairman Alfred V. Ty who led the farewell toast with over 120 other guests.

“His hands-on leadership approach propelled Toyota to rebound from last year’s tough market conditions, and we are fortunate to have a President who truly led by example,” said Chairman Ty in his toast for President Suzuki.

Mr. Suzuki oversaw the CARS Program participation of TMP with the Philippine government through an all-new Vios model. There were three major launches under Mr. Suzuki’s leadership.

“This is not a final goodbye, but a new beginning. I am sure I will see you all again very soon,” said Mr. Suzuki as he took the final bow in front of media practitioners, with whom he has spent a number of launch events and drive activities. He also played football with car dealers and the media.

A new president for Toyota Motor Philippines will be announced early next year.
