Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday expressed his disappointment after Japan were beat 4- 1 by Colombia in the last game of the Group C in the soccer Brazil World Cup.

The drubbing, along with a loss to Ivory Coast and a draw with Greece, will bring the "Samurai Blue" back home.

"It's disappointing," Abe was quoted as saying by Japan's Kyodo News after watching the game on TV at his office.

Japan's top government spokesman Yoshihide Suga said that the result is beyond his expectation.

"Japan had many good shots but just didn't score enough," Suga told reporters, showing his disappointment.
