Chinese mainland reports 9 new COVID-19 cases, including one local

The Chinese mainland recorded nine new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including one locally transmitted in Hebei Province, the first local transmission since February 7, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Monday.

Ten new asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Sunday and a total of 396 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland has reached 89,772, and the death toll stands at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 10,779 (10,185 recoveries, 193 deaths)

Macao: 48 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 937 (859 recoveries, 9 deaths)
