The French Embassy in Lebanon on Monday donated essential materials used for the fight against COVID-19 to the Rafic Hariri University Hospital, an embassy statement said.

The donations include 500 coveralls, 1,000 pairs of gloves, 50 pairs of boots and 50 thermometers, according to the statement.

"We must support Lebanon in the public health sector, especially when the country is already weakened by the serious economic crisis," the embassy said.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Nassif Hitti thanked France for its donation, highlighting the need to cooperate with all friendly countries and organizations to fight against the virus.

Lebanon has so far confirmed 32 COVID-19 infection cases.
