Arson suspected in school bus fire that killed 13 in E China

Local authorities on Friday said they suspect a fatal bus fire in east China's Shandong Province was started by the bus driver, Xinhua reported.

Eleven children, aged between three and six, and two adults were killed after the bus caught fire inside the Taojiakuang Tunnel in Weihai, a city in eastern Shandong on May 9.

Of the 11 children, five were South Korean nationals and six were Chinese nationals. They were all students at an international kindergarten in Weihai, local officials told reporters late on Tuesday.

Authorities did not give further details as to why the suspect may have started the fire.
