Tottenham Hotspur announced on Wednesday that the club have had one positive COVID-19 test result in the latest round of testing ahead of the Premier League's resumption on June 17.

"Due to medical confidentiality, the individual's name will not be disclosed," Spurs said in a statement before adding the person was asymptomatic and would now self-isolate for seven days.

Later in the day, Premier League confirmed that only one tested positive when 1,197 players and club staff were checked in the fifth round of testing, which means there have been 13 positives from 5,073 people screened so far.

It could been as another boost on the road to the "Project Restart," the English topflight's plan to restart the season and complete the remaining games in accordance to the UK government's health guidelines.

According to multiple British media outlets, a provisional fixture list will be unveiled in coming days and some club could face the grim prospect of playing three games in seven days.

The Guardian revealed that the league organizers are working to finalize a schedule that features full match rounds on six long weekends, beginning with June 19 to June 22, and three midweek slots, incorporating games on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Meanwhile, American tech giants Amazon confirmed that it will stream four Premier League games for free when football returns. All Premier League games will be played behind closed doors but the 92 remaining fixtures will be shown live to encourage fans to stay home.
