Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 4:00 p.m. local time Monday and the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong remained at 1,065.

Hong Kong's Hospital Authority said as of Monday noon a total of 1,030 confirmed and suspected patients had been discharged from hospitals upon recovery.

A total of 32 confirmed patients are currently hospitalized in eight hospitals across Hong Kong, including one in serious condition.

In addition, the CHP issued a letter to schools on Monday, urging them to maintain vigilance against the COVID-19 when classes resume.

The CHP again called on members of the public to maintain appropriate social distancing with other people as far as possible in their daily lives to minimize the risk of infection. In particular, they should go out less and avoid social activities such as meal gatherings or other gatherings to reduce the chance of contacting infected persons who may not present any symptoms, and minimize the risk of outbreak clusters emerging in the community.

Given that the situation of COVID-19 infection remains severe and that there is a continuous increase in the number of cases reported around the world, the CHP strongly urged members of the public to avoid all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong.
